Greece Travel Secrets recommends its choice of where to eat in Southern Rhodes, including restaurants and tavernas in Lindos, Gennadi, Pefki and Monolithos.
Mama’s Kitchen
This very pleasant restaurant is at the heart of the village of Gennadi, which is a 30-minute drive south from Lindos on the east coast. The menu offers a great selection of Greek dishes, such as pitaroudia (fried chick peas) and soutzoukakia (meatballs in a delicious sauce). Pizza fanciers are well-catered for too, and they offer a good selection of wines from Rhodes.

Stefano’s Restaurant
Enjoy your grilled octopus or a tasty seafood platter at this beachside taverna in laid-back Kiotari, which is a 20-minute drive south from Lindos. It’s well worth the drive just to eat at this place, which has been in business since 1924.

Agostino’s
Popular with locals and visitors alike, Agostino’s is just below the Stavri Square car park and has stunning views of the Acropolis. It’s not the best location, which is what makes it a hidden gem which we highly recommend. The food is traditional and features such tasty dishes as lamb kleftiko (lamb casserole), all at reasonable prices.

Arhontiko
This superb gourmet restaurant is in an old sea captain's house built in 1605, and the atmosphere is more than matched by the delicious food. The menu includes such dishes as fillet steak with dates, sun-dried tomatoes and hazelnuts, or lamb stuffed with feta and wrapped in vine leaves.
Mythos All Day Restaurant
With its several terraces and large rooftop dining area, with excellent views of the lit-up Acropolis at night, the Mythos is understandably busy and you'll need to get there early to grab one of the best tables. The menu includes some Italian dishes as well as the Greek staples, and there's a decent list of wines and cocktails as well.
Taverna Christos Corner
Unmissable on the approach road into Monolithos, this classic rural taverna offers good mezedhes and charcoal-grilled main dishes, including goat and home-made sausages. Try yoghurt with the delicious local honey for dessert.
Taverna Nikolas
On the main road is this very popular taverna, with a large patio dining area. The menu is fairly conventional Greek, with fresh fish, grills and vegetarian options, but it's well done and comes with friendly service. Try the lamb with honey, if it’s available.
